Louis Vuitton is one of those brands that stands the test of time. I’ve done a few school projects on the brand, what I’ve learned is that they truly do care about the quality of their products. Craftsmanship is something that they really do pay attention to.
A few months ago, I was lucky enough to purchase my first luxury bag. Ever since I was young, I remember seeing the LV in magazines and on TV. I knew I’d get one someday but never thought that day would be while I’m still in college. Through all the ups and downs, hard work and dedication always pays off.

I originally had my eye on the bag in the black option with gold hardware. I opted for the monogram because I knew that it would be timeless. The bag is also can be extremely hard to get your hands on. So when I strolled into the Soho store and they had one left, it just seemed right.
The shades of brown also fit in with my ‘aesthetic’ for the fall season. I love adding more brown into my wardrobe during this time of the year. There is just something cozy about it. With all the brown sweaters, teddy coats, and changing/falling leaves the color just fits. Plus the classic monogram will always be around, it really can be paired with any outfit of any style.
As for the bag itself, I love the set-up. The interior consists of 3 distinct larger pockets and one smaller pocket. There is also a zipper compartment on the exterior back of the bag. The fact that the bag has an adjustable cross body strap in addition to the top handle also makes it very versatile. Over coats and for walking around, it can be nice to have the cross body. The top handle is great to make the bag seem a little more styled and more like an accessory as opposed to just part of the outfit. I love doing both depending on the context.
The bag fits a good amount. I was finding my Gucci Dionysus a little to small being back in the city and carrying more around. The Pochette Metis can comfortably fit my phone, wallet, keys, makeup and my canon g7x. There really is a lot of space in the bag. This is also greta for this time of year when I need some place to put gloves/beanies when indoors. Sometimes I find it a little empty if I really am just needing my phone, wallet and keys but in that case Markus can also throw his stuff in there (which he always tries to do anyways).

If you’re considering buying the bag, but not 100% sure on the price, consider buying it second hand. Websites like StockX have greta reviews and can help save you some money. This bag also comes in so many color ways, from the black I mentioned earlier, to light pink, red, reverse monogram and more. They have even come out with slightly different styles of this iconic piece. I think the size is great because it can it a lot but at the same time it’s never too bulky.
Overall, I’m still in love with the bag. I do wear a lot of black and white so sometimes it can be a little harder to incorporate into my wardrobe. But with that said, I think it was a perfect, timeless and classic piece to start my own little handbag collection with. I’ve loved adding a little bit of the warmer tones into my wardrobe to help complement the bag. The quality really is amazing. The canvas holds up amazing as well. There have been a few spills and nothing happened (I was terrified in the moment and may have freaked out but we made it through).
I hope you found this post helpful if you’ve been looking at the Pochette Metis or if you’re just interested in adding a new bag to your wardrobe! If you get it, be sure to DM me over on instagram and tell me how you feel about it!
