Growing up I always loved being in front of the camera. I chose to pursue a career in the modeling industry. So to follow my dreams I moved from Los Angeles to New York City (also to pursue a career in business). I am lucky enough to attend New York University’s Stern School of Business. I am working towards a double major in Global Business and Management with an accompanying minor in Law and Society and Marketing.
Despite my love for modeling, it’s been a tough road. Standing at 5’11” I’ve always been told to ‘be skinnier’ for runway, told that I needed to lose weight if I ever wanted to be successful in the industry. I grew up playing sports and so this is my body build and I’m happy with my size, so losing weight (especially an unreasonable amount) for a fashion career was never a choice I would pick. But lucky enough, there has been a shift in recent years that has made the industry more inclusive. But there is still a gap. I’m often still told to either be bigger or be smaller. I’ve been lucky enough along the way to find some great agencies who believe in what I stand for. Living in the city, I am currently represented by State Management.
But as I’ve begun to find myself more, I’ve learned that I love being a part of what goes on pre and post-production as well. I love having an idea and watching it develop and change every step of the way. Having creative control throughout the whole content creation process has really helped me find myself and find what makes me happy. It gives me the ability to explore my interests in fashion, business, photography, writing and so much more. I started taking instagram more serious, launched this blog and have committed myself to this whole creative outlet. I can honestly tell you that I would have never imagined that I’d be where I am today, living out my biggest dreams and seeing them materialize right in front of my eyes. So, follow along this journey with me right here in my own little corner of the internet and see what happens next…
